Writing in a random train station in Paris…

Hello from a coffee shop in a random train station!

imageI am in transit to my cousins’ place, and I’ll be honest, I’m not even sure which Paris train station I’m in. But there’s coffee ☺️ (and they don’t know how to spell Elsie in France…)

What I love about writing from places like train stations is the incredible people watching. The couple who are seeing each other for the first time in months, the child who runs to his arriving grandfather, the people who step off the train alone and looking lost…

As a weaver of stories with Happily Ever After, there is ample inspiration in this unnamed, cold, eighteenth-century station.

This weekend I’m heading to a city called Tours in the Loire Valley. This is the most travelling I’ve done in years. And it feels good. A fellow writer friend and I will be on a writing retreat, happily descending into imaginary worlds, but together.

As a hard-core extrovert, I love doing writing retreats with others. While I love the act of writing… it gets lonely.

I can’t wait to tell you about how prolific I am after this weekend!

Well, the coffee is cold and the people watching is heating up! Must get back to it…

Wishing you a wonderful day,

~Elsie
