Skiing as I get older…

Greetings from Marseille!

After what was such a productive writing retreat, my brain told me to step back from the story and take a breather.

I did, and have just today gone back in to edit, and I’m loving this main character. She reminds me so much of this Alabama girl I know – cheeky, funny, and soft-hearted.

I can skiiiiiiiii!! Okay, it was more like controlled slipping down the side of a mountain, but as someone really not gifted at most sporty things, I was pretty darn pleased with myself.

Now, I boasted about my skiing adventures, but the truth is that my back and shoulders are a MESS. I didn’t fall… but it seems starting new mountain adventures in one’s early forties is not so very advised…

And it was recently my birthday 🙂

I embrace getting older! Hooray for living another day! Meanwhile, I’m going to enjoy these last days of forty-something…
